Few days ago, I tried to download some of the apps from my android phone and it was downloading smoothly but all of sudden a message popped up saying “App could not be downloaded due to an Error 926”. I was amazed seeing that message then I tried once more, but it showed the same message. I tried a couple of times but there was no sign of downloading, the same message was there on the screen, then I tried some of the method to get rid of this problem and finally I was able to fix the error. There may be lots of people who might also be facing the same problem. Now, don’t worry. Here I will show you some method to Fix Error 926 in Android.
Method 1:
This method is about clearing the cache and data of “Download Manager”. Follow
- Go to Settings >> Go to Apps or Application Manager
- Go to ‘All apps’ >> Find Download Manager
- Open Download Manager
- Next tap on the ‘Clear cache’ and ‘Clear data’ button
- Reboot your phone after doing this process.
Now, Go to the play store and check if the app is downloading or not. It should be working fine by now and if this doesn’t work for you then try the next method.
Method 2:
This method is also similar to above method. Just to clear the cache and data of “Google
Services Framework”. To do this, follow the below steps:
- Go to Settings >> Go to Apps or Application Manager
- Go to ‘All apps’ >> Find Google Services Framework
- Open Google Services Framework
- Next tap on the ‘Clear cache’ and ‘Clear data’ button.
- Reboot your phone after doing this process.
Hopefully, this method will fix your error. If this method doesn’t work for you then you can try third method, that has solved many error including this error 926.
Method 3: Reset the Google Play Store
For resetting the Google Play Store you can follow the given process.
- Go to Setting >> Go to Application Setting (In some devices application setting is named as apps).
- Go to, All the apps > >Find the Google Play Store >> Clear everything (Clear Cache, Clear Data).
- Once you have clear everything, Go ahead and Force Stop the application
- After doing all this process, Reboot your device and try to download the app.
It should be working fine by now.
For some users, just resetting the “Download Manager” might fix the error. I had to reset “Google Services Framework” as well. Other had to Reset the Google Play Store app. Hopefully, your problem is solved by now.
