Running your Android on safe mode can help you track down the problem. When in safe mode, all the 3rd party app that you have installed will be disabled. If your device is showing problems such as overheating, battery drainage or memory problem, and it doesn’t show such problems when in safe mode, you can assume that an app you’ve installed on the device is the culprit. How to enter Safe Mode in Android
Stock Android
If you have device running stock android, then below is the process of entering safe mode. Devices such as Google Pixel and Nexus devices run on stock Android.
- Press and hold the Power button. You will be prompted with a box with “Power off” and “Restart” options. Some may have “Screenshot”, “Reboot into recovery” options too.
- Now, tap and hold Power Off. You will again be prompted with “Reboot to safe mode” option.
- Tap on OK to Reboot in safe mode.
- Your device will be rebooted into safe mode and “Safe Mode” will appear on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Samsung Galaxy
If you have any Samsung Galaxy device, below it the process of getting into safe mode.
- Press and hold the Power button.
- Select Power off. This will turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Power button again till you see Samsung’s logo on the screen.
- Let go of the Power button and press and hold the Volume down button.
- Keep holding it till your device boots up.
- You will see “Safe mode” in the bottom left corner. Let go of the Volume down button.
You can now uninstall app that you think is causing problem(s). You can only use the device’s inbuilt apps when in safe mode. To get out of safe mode, simply reboot the device.
