With android gaining grounds in global smartphone market, HP is also joining the competition by announcing two new Android phablets- Slate6 VoiceTab and Slate7 VoiceTab. These HP slate devices have a premium look with medium specifications.
The slate 6 comes with a huge 6 inch 1,280 X 720 resolution IPS display with 244 ppi. The Slate6’s display is slightly smaller that Sony Xperia Z Ultra. On the other hand the Slate7 sports a 7 inch IPS display with 1,280 X 800 res. Both the devices will sport a 1 GHz quad-code Marvell PXA1088 processor with 16GB of internal storage expandable via microSD. There is also support for 3G Dual-Sim Dual Standby feature. The Slate6 and Slate7 is said to offer top-quality sound with its “front-firing stereo speakers that deliver immersive experience in gaming, music, movies and social media”. These phablets come with a modest 5MP rear and 2MP front camera .
More specifications and release date is yet to be announced but the pricing is expected to be around $200 for Slate6 and $250 for Slate7. HP CEO has also specified that these HP Slate phablets are targeted towards consumers in emerging markets such as India and China.
