Have you ever wondered how awesome it could be if you would be allowed to see the YouTube videos offline (that means when you don’t have internet connection)? Well, this dream is gonna be true very soon. Along with the launch of Android One project in India yesterday, Google has announced that YouTube to be available offline for the users of the smartphones coming under Android One. To be precise, if you buy an Android One smartphone, you can save any videos on YouTube while watching them, and watch anywhere later when you don’t have internet connection.
In the event yesterday, YouTube executive Ceasar Sengupta stated
YouTube is popular here. You watch some videos again and again. How awesome would it be if you could keep watching them again and again without having to pay for data, and take the videos with you wherever you go? Within the coming few weeks, much of YouTube will be available offline in India. This is huge, and our users will really, really like this. You can download a video once, save it to your phone, and watch it again and again.
However, there is no any official statement in the starting date of this facility to the users. We can easily guess that it will be available very soon though. To be available only in India for some period (since the Android One phones are available only in India as of now), nothing has been said yet about its availability in other parts of the world when the Android One project gets launched there. But however, it is almost sure that Google will extend this facility to other countries very soon, and there are also the signs for it to be available in the mature markets like the US and Europe.
Do you like this new facility by Google of YouTube to be available offline to Android One users? What do you think about it?
