In a press event, Xiaomi has recently announced a new phone- Xiaomi Mi Note, which will be available in two version- the one with better specs will be called Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. This phone has some pretty good high-end specs, which seems to be like the sequel of Redmi Note, but to everyone’s surprise, Xiaomi kept this under the Mi lineup.
The other specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note are awesome as well. It features a 5.7-inches Full HD (1920 X 1080 pixels) IPS LCD capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 386 ppi. The handset is sleek, having dimensions of 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95 mm and it weighs just 161 grams, which is pretty light given the dimensions. The phone will have 16 or 32 GB of internal memory with 2 GB of RAM and with an option of expandable storage option via microSD card upto 128 GB. For the processing power, there will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, compiled with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, and Adreno 330 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with Optical image stabilization, autofocus and dual tone dual LED Flash which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 4 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Sony/LG Li-ion 3,000 mAh battery. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GLONASS, NFC and A-GPS. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 over it, and the company says that Lollipop for this device is on it’s way. The phone will be available only in black and white color options.
This phone will have Corning Glass 3 protection on both parts- display and back panel. The front has a 2.5D glass with a gentle curve around the edges and the back has what Xiaomi calls 3D glass with a more pronounced curve. It will have Quick Charge 2.0 feature, which will charge its battery up to 60% in 30 minutes.The rear camera of this phone has Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor on the back with f/2.0 aperture, and the front shooter is of 2 micron pixel size, which is similar to the ultrapixel camera used in the HTC’s previous flagships such as HTC One and HTC One M8. The display is manufactured by Sharp/JDI, has a 95% NTSC color gamut and 1400:1 contrast ratio with adaptive dynamic contrast. There is also a reading mode that reduces short wavelength blue light that creates additional eye strain.
The phone will undoubtedly go on sale in China starting from the end of this month, and nothing is said about its international availability yet. The Xiaomi Mi Note comes with a price tag of 2299 Chinese Yuan ($371) for the 16GB model and 2799 Chinese Yuan ($451) for the 64GB model. There will also be an option of extension of the phone’s warranty, which will cost you 199 Yuan ($32).
