Everyone misses notifications now and then. Sometimes they don’t matter much, but sometimes they may be important and you clear it not realizing you will need it later. Apps like Facebook and Twitter have their own notification panel bit majority of the apps don’t. Clear it and its gone forever. Good thing your loyal Android keeps a log to view cleared notifications. Here’s how to view cleared notifications.
View cleared notifications
Getting your notifications log can be a difficult process but after know this process, you won’t have hard time remembering how to get there. All you need is a simple widget that Android itself provides. There’s no need to installing any 3rd party apps or widgets to log all your notifications. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Tap and hold on an empty part of your home screen.
Step 2: You’ll enter screen editing mode. There, tap on Widgets to see the list of all available widgets.
Step 3: Scroll till you find System app widget on the list. Tap on it.
Step 4: This lets you add a widgets of frequently accessed settings. Pick Notifications log.
Step 5: This is it. You will find a gear icon on your home screen which when tapped will let you view you cleared notification.
As useful as this might me, there are a few limitations. If you are using 3rd party launchers, the steps may differ. You can only see notification from a fixed time frame. The log can only tell what app the notification was sent from and at what time you received it; but not the content. When you tap a notification, it will show you the package name, and other irrelevant data which normal users will not understand. Tapping on the notification will not take you to the app.
