What’s worse than a low battery with no charger around? A continuous notification to remind you of that. this is a problem with a lot of devices. Finally, with Android Pie and greater version, you can disable that annoying notification. Notification Channels now work with preinstalled apps such as System UI. So basically, you can now control how the notification appears or even turn it off. Here’s how to turn off low battery notification in Android Pie and latter.
Turn off low battery notification in Android
On Android, you get two options in dealing with Low Battery notification – you can either make them less annoying or just straight up disable them.
Step 1: Open up the System Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Apps & notifications.
Step 3: Tap on See all () apps. “()” will be replaced by the number of apps you currently have on your device.
Step 4: Tap on the 3 dot icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 5: Select Show System. This will populate the list with system apps along with the apps you installed.
Step 6: Search for System UI. Tap on it.
Step 7: Find and select Notifications. This will reveal all the categories of notifications that are made by System UI.
Step 8: Look for Battery and tap the checkbox next to it. This will disable the notification altogether.
Step 9: When to tap on the back button, you will see a message below saying “1 category deleted”.
You can also choose to disable the notification but make a pop up appear on the screen to alert that the battery is getting low. Tap on Behaviour and select Show silently or Show silently and minimize. This way you get the warning without the annoying sound. you can even make the notification appear when on Do not disturb mode.
