How to transfer data to Samsung device

Do you have a plan to buy a new Samsung Galaxy device, but you worry about all the data on your old device? Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. There is an app that was made to aid you on transferring all your data to your new Samsung Galaxy device. Smart Switch Mobile app lets you transfer almost anything from one device to a Samsung Galaxy device. Here’s how to transfer data to Samsung device.

How to transfer data to Samsung device

Step 1: Install Samsung Smart Switch Mobile on both your old and new Samsung device from Google Play.

Step 2: Open the app on both of the devices. You will see some instructions.

Step 3: Tap on Connect on both devices. Connection will be established after a few seconds.

Step 4: Now, all your contacts, messages, multimedia files will be checked on both of your devices. You will later need to select the files you want to transfer to your new device.

Step 5: Make sure you uncheck all the files in your new device or else they will be transferred to your old device.

Step 6: Tap on Ok after you receive a prompt on your new Galaxy device.

Step 7: After the transfer is complete, all your data from your old device will be available on your new Galaxy device. Note that the transfer may take some time to complete depending up on the size of the data.

How to transfer data to Samsung device (via microSD Card)

You can also transfer all your data form your old device to your new Galaxy device without connecting both devices. You can use a microSD card instead. You will still need Samsung Smart Switch Mobile app though.

Step 1: Open the Smart Switch app on your old device and tap on More.

Step 2: Tap on Transfer via SD Card.

Step 3: Select Back Up.

Step 4: Choose the thing you want to transfer and tap on the Backup located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5: You can also password protect the backup by tapping on Settings on the prompt window.

Step 6: After the backup has finished, remove the card and insert it in your new Galaxy device.

Step 7: On your new device, open the Smart Switch app and tap on More like instructed previously.

Step 8: Select Transfer via SD card and then tap on Restore.

Step 9: Tap on Finish once the process is complete.

This is it. However, this app only works on selected devices running on Android version 4.0 or higher. The list of compatible devices can be found on the store. You can transfer data from Apple or Blackberry phones too.
