What is the use of having a touch screen if all you can do it tap? Swipe actions make any app convenient to use. Outlook by Microsoft now allows swipe functions. There is a total of seven actions out of which you can perform two at a time. Here’s how to use swipe function in Outlook.
Use swipe function on Outlook
Start by downloading Outlook for Android if you haven’t already, then follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the app.
Step 2: Tap on hamburger icon located at the top-left corner.
Step 3: Tap on Settings gear located on the bottom-left corner.
Step 4: Find Swipe Options under Mail tab.
Step 5: Tap on it to go to Swiper Options screen.
Step 6: Edit the actions as per your need.
To edit the actions(we’ll use left for example):
Step 1: Tap in the Swipe Left box.
Step 2: By default, Schedule will be selected but you can choose any of the seven available options: Delete, Archive, Mark Read, Move, Flag, Read & Archive or None.
Each option is color coded and will appear when you’re performing the action. Red of for Delete, Green for Archive, Blue for Mark Read and Move, Yellow for Flag and Schedule and Read & Archive is Green. You can repeat the process for Swipe Right.
Now, head back to your inbox and try them out. Select an email and swipe is just slightly to preview the action. Swipe to highlight the action with it color. The action is now active and will activate after you release your finger.
This is it. this small feature enhances your productivity and makes it easier for you to use the app. If you are unhappy with your choices you can simply return to the Swipe Options page and tap and Reset to Default located at the bottom.
