How to set up automatic Do Not Disturb rules on an Android Smartphone?

Here are the steps involved to set custom rules to turn on or off Automatic Do Not Disturb mode automatically for your android smartphone. Please follow the steps below.

  1. First, go to your Settings menu.
  2. Tap on Notifications.
  3. Under the Notifications menu, you will see the Do not disturb option.
  4. Tap on Do not disturb.
  5. Next, Tap Turn on as schedule. Here you can turn Do not disturb on and off automatically at scheduled times. Just tap on it.
  6. Once you tap, you will get into the screen where every configuration is done.
  7. Toggle the On button to set your schedule.
  8. Select the days when Do not disturb turns automatically.
  9. Next tap on a set schedule to select the time when you want do not disturb to be turned on automatically and you are done.

Allow Exceptions

The Allow Exceptions option allows users to set limitations for calls and messages. Here you can set exceptions for Calls or Message from Contacts only, Favorite contacts only, all contacts or none. You can also allow exceptions for Repeater calls. The call functionality allows calls when they are received from the same phone number more than once within 15 minutes. You can also allow exceptions for Event/task alerts and Reminders. To configure Allow Exceptions follow the steps below.

  1. Go to your Settings menu.
  2. Tap on Notifications.
  3. Tap on Do not disturb.
  4. Here, you will see Allow exceptions. Tap on it.
  5. Once you enter the Allow exception screen configure according to your needs.
