How to root Samsung Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915*

Before you go any further, know that this method to Root Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will trip off KNOX. Visit the CF Auto Root site to see if your device is supported and download appropriate file. Make sure you have stock firmware for your device to recover from a soft brick. Make sure you have installed Samsung USB Drivers or just download KIES from Samsung to automatically install needed drivers. Note that I do not take any credits for this method. The credits go to the respective developer who did all the hard work finding this exploit. Visit the respective XDA thread for any additional information or updates.

Step 1: Disable Reactivation Lock. To do so, go to Settings > Security > Reactivation lock > Disable it.

Step 2: Download Odin v3.07 and open it.

Step 3: Reboot your device into Download mode. To do so, switch off your device and switch it on again by holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together.

Step 4: Connect your device to your computer. Wait till the color of COM PORT changes color.

Step 5: Tap on PDA button and select the extracted .tar.md5 CF Root file. Make sure it is for your device.

Step 6: Click on Start.

Step 7: Your device will reboot. Initial boot may take some time. Don’t panic.

Step 8: After your device finishes booting, open the SuperSU app from the app drawer and update SU binaries if prompted.

How to root Samsung Galaxy Note Edge T-Mobile

This guide is for T-Mobile N915TUBU1ANL1, N915TUBU1ANJ1, N915TUBU1ANK3, N915TUBU1BOD7, N915TUBU1BOG2, Kit Kat 4.4.4 SM-N915T Note Edge. Note that this method will trip off KNOX so flash at your own risk. Please visit this XDA Thread before going any further. Note that I do not take any credits for this method. Things you will need

Note: Before you start, make sure SuperSU .zip file and Ext SD Card Write fix .zip for Lollipop or Kit Kat is on your internal SD Card. Do not extract them.

Step 1: Extract the CF Root .zip file.

Step 2: Open Odin as Administrator.

Step 3: Reboot your device into Download mode. To do so, switch off your device and switch it on again by holding Volume Down, Home and Power button at the same time. Press Volume Up to get past the Warning screen.Download mode: How to root Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Step 4: On Odin, Click on the PDA and select the CF Auto Root .tar.md5 file. Make sure your Odin screen looks like the one on the picture posted below.

Step 5: Connect your device to the computer. Wait till the color of COM PORT changes color.

Step 6: Click on Start. The flashing will fail after a few seconds. Don’t panic as this is supposed to happen.

Step 7: Disconnect you device from the computer. Take out its battery and put it back on.

Step 8: Put the device in Download mode again.

Step 9: Connect your device to the computer.

Step 10: Open Odin then click on PDA and select the TWRP .img.tar file.

Step 11: Make sure your Odin looks like that on the picture posted below.

Step 12: Click on Start.

Step 13: Your device will reboot. Initial boot may take some time.

Step 14: Turn off your device and get into recovery. To do so press and hold Power, Volume Up and Home button at the same time.

Step 15: Do not skip this step. Go to Settings > Screen > Unckeck Enable Screen Timeout and set the Brightness to 10%. This will prevent display issues when using TWRP.

Step 16: Tap on Install the select the SuperSU .zip file. Swipe to install.

Step 17: Again, tap on Install and select Ext SD Card Write Fix .zip file. Swipe to install.

Step 18: Reboot. You will have SuperSu app on your app drawer. If not, install it from the Play Store.
