Remove apps and websites from accessing Google Account

Google has made it easier for us to sign up and log in to websites or apps. You just have to press a button and all the information is automatically filled saving you tons of time and from the hassle of remembering passwords. This feature is so convenient that we tend to misuse it and sign up for a number of useless sites and apps. At some point, you may want to remove access to those accounts. That can be done easily. Here’s how to remove apps and websites from accessing Google Account. This can also be useful for removing access from those apps and web sites that you think may be misusing your information.

You can do this using both your desktop and mobile device. We’ll get into each one of them separately. Let’s start by using the desktop. Follow the steps below;

Step 1: Open your browser and log in to your Google Account. You can use this link.

Step 2: Using the link provided on step one, you will get into a page with some options. You want to click on Security to advance further.

Step 3: When you’re in Security, scroll down till you see Third-party apps with account access. Google states a warning that says you gave these apps and sites access to information that may even be sensitive and even urges you to remove those sites and apps.

 

Step 4: Click on Manage third-party apps located in the bottom section.

Step 5: You will find 2 lists here – 3rd party apps with account access and signing in with Google. We are concerned about the 1st one but you can go through both of them.

Step 6: Now, click on Remove Access which you can see when you click on the service names. Do this for all the sites and apps you can to remove access from.

Now removing the 3rd party apps and site using your smart device.

Step 1: Start by open the Google app on your Android device.

Step 2: Once in, tap on your avatar or profile picture located at the top right corner.

Step 3: Find Manage your Google Account and tap on it to open some additional settings.

Step 4: Tap on Security.

Step 5: Find the section “Third-party apps with account access”.

Step 6: Tap on Manage Third-party access. This will open up a list of apps that has access to your Google account.

Step 7: Tap on one to find the Remove Access button. Tap on it and then on OK.
