Lenovo K80 comes with 4 GB RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery

The number in the specs sheet of Android handsets keep on increasing. With this trend, the mobile devices have also started coming with top-notch specs like 4 GB RAM. Asus some months back announced the Zenfone 2, which was the world’s first smartphone having the 4 GB RAM. After this, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Note Pro, and now, one more smartphone is added to the list- Lenovo K80. In an event organized in China today, the tech giant has officially announced the device.

Lenovo K80

While talking about the specs, the Lenovo K80 certainly has the high end specs, but still, some of the specs are pretty low and therefore, is not good enough to be called as a flagship. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom chipset with 1.2GHz CPU, and sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The device has a threading processor, which means even though the clock speed is set 1.2 GHz, it can be boosted up to 1.8GHz frequency acceleration. As already mentioned, it comes with 4GB of RAM, which can be compared with a PC-class configuration, and 64 GB of internal memory, and packs in a huge 4000 mAh battery. This means, even though the RAM is pretty good, since the clock speed is  pretty low, it will not handle high-end games. However, the phone will be perfect for multitasking.

In terms of camera, the K80 features a 13 MP rear unit with Optical Image Stabilization. The 8.5mm-thin device runs Android Lollipop and comes in black, silver, and red colour options. Starting April 30, the Lenovo K80 will be available in China for 1,799 CNY ($290). A model with only 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space will also be released (for 1,499 CNY – about $240). We don’t know if Lenovo is planning to launch the K80 in other markets, but we’ll let you know when we find out.

What do you think? Is buying this smartphone not a pretty good deal at the given price? Feel free to share your opinions in the comment section below.
