How to install Kodi on Android

Installing Kodi on your Android phone or tablet is as easy as it gets. You can use any of the two methods to make it work.

Method 1

For this method to work, you need to install a few apps on your device – LocalCast, any good file manager ( like Solid Explorer or ES File Explorer and of course Kodi. Install them all. Now, you will have to download a .xml file with the name playercorefactory.

After you’ve downloaded the things you need, using the file explorer of your choice, enable the option to see hidden files. You can find the option to do so on your file explorer’s settings. After that’s been taken cared of, go to the folder containing the .xml file and copy it to Android > Data > org.xbmc.kodi > files > .kodi > userdata.

You’re now good to go. Open Kodi and play any media file. Select LocalCast as the app to use and select Chromecast. You should now be able to play the video on the TV that the Chromecast is plugged into.

Method 2

This is the easier method to make Kodi work. This method uses the screen mirroring feature of the Google Home app. All you have to do is open the menu > tap on Cast Screen / Audio > Select the Chromecast device > open Kodi and play any video. You’ll have your device’s screen mirrored on the screen that Chromecast is connected to.
