HTC has recently launched a new phone under the One series- the HTC One ME. The name sounds like the mixed up version of the One M series and the One E series (there is only one phone under this though, the One E8)nd the phone is in fact made so. There is no number though, and is the second (or even third) high-end Android smartphone that HTC has released this year.
The One ME features a Quad HD screen for a pixel density of 565 ppi and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 octa-core processor, with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Weighing in at 155g, the device is slightly lighter than the One M9+, while dimensions are almost identical. This looks a lot like a plastic version of the M9+, complete with the fingerprint sensor wedged between the bottom front speaker.
On the back, the One ME has a single 20 MP camera with 4K video recording and dual LED flash, while on the front we can see a 4 MP UltraPixel camera. Battery life should be pretty good, thanks to the 2,840 mAh capacity (same as M9+). Unveiled in China, the One ME is the world’s first handset to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 processor – a 64-bit, 2.2 GHz octa-core chipset that was announced earlier this year.
HTC will launch the One ME in three color versions: meteor grey, gold sepia, and rose gold. The brand new smartphone will first be available in China and other Asian markets, for a price that hasn’t been announced. We don’t know when (or if) the HTC One ME will be released in other regions, but we assume we’re going to find out more about this pretty soon.
Connectivity options of the device include dual-SIM, LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac. NFC and microUSB 2.0 round up the list of options. HTC’s ubiquitous BoomSound speakers with Dolby Surround are also part of the One ME’s specs
There is no word if HTC will launch the One ME outside of China.
