The all loved phone- HTC One M7 is now almost two years old now, and this is the hot time for the third phone in its series- HTC One M9’s rumors to circulate around. After about two years of release, the HTC One M7 is still getting good response from the manufacturer, unlike the flagships from other brands. It was previously confirmed that this phone will get the Lollipop update within ninety days of official release by Google, and the update for its Google Play Edition Sibling has already rolled out.
There’s still time for the HTC One to get lollipop update, but it’s main version, 5.0 is already so old. Google has provided minor version update, 5.0.2 Lollipop for some phones (precisely the Nexus 7 and Nexus 9), which does not have any major changes. This update is not completely bug-free either, some Nexus users have already started reporting about some boot issues, along with some others. The point is, HTC One M7’s last update might be the 5.0.2 Lollipop, as the sources claim.
The HTC One M7 is all set to get the Lollipop update next week (most probably, but not definitely, it might take a week more maximum).
LlabTooFeR (who usually gives information about leaks or tips on HTC’s products), on his twitter status update, has said, “Some news for M7 users. Good news – you will receive Android 5.0.2 update. Bad news – this might be the last major update for this device”.
This is not the news for the HTC One users to get surprised though. HTC had provided two-year guaranteed update support on the event of release of the phone, and as the two years are about to end now (the phone was released in February, 2013 and hardy a month is left for that), it seems HTC is ending the support too. But as this is just a rumour, it won’t be surprising when the company announces further update for its lovely One M7 smartphone.
