Google Play Store will automatically place a shortcut to the newly installed app on your home screen for easy access. This will be helpful if you don’t have much apps on your android device or you don’t mind your home screen being full of icons that covers your pretty wallpaper. But if you are like me who need to have a clean home screen and well organized apps then this feature can be quite a headache. But keeping this in mind, Google has given us the option to disable this feature. Here’s how to stop Google Play Store from adding icons to your home screen.
Find and open Google Play Store first. Now access the settings for the side panel and simply uncheck the box with the title “Add icon to Home screen”. This is it. Now you don’t have to worry about the play store adding unnecessary app icons and ruining your home screens’ beauty. This will work for all the launchers. If you want to add icons of the app you frequently use on your home screen then just tap, hold and drag the icon on to your home screen. You can also create folders and place similar apps together, if you are so much into organizing.
