Also check you have good amount of free space on your mobile phone.
Google account sync had stopped working and google products drive, keepnotes, contacts had stopped working. I cleared lot of social media and sharing files, then Sync started working fine.

2019 – Go to contacts.google.com and change the label on the contact’s phone number or just start changing things on the contacts that don’t work.
