How to configure proxy on Firefox for Android?

Proxy means substitute. A proxy server represents / substitute a host instead of you into the internet. This hides your real identity. When you use proxy, for example, when you type in an URL, you talk to the proxy server instead of directly to the internet. This way, all the data gets sent to the proxy server and the server sends the data for you to the defined destination. Proxy basically is another computer which acts as a hub through which inter requests are processed. This is what proxy is in layman’s term. Here’s how to configure proxy on Firefox for Android.

Configure proxy on Firefox for Android

Step 1: Open Firefox on your device. On the URL bar, type about:config and hit enter.

Step 2: In the search bar, type network.proxy.http . This will set the proxy id and port.configure proxy on Firefox

Step 3: For example, I used:

Proxy IP = 47.89.185.47
Proxy Port = 80

Step 4: Now, change http to type:

From: network.proxy.http
To: network.proxy.type

Step 5: Set Proxy Type to 1 to enable the proxy setting.

Step 6: You can now browse the internet while being anonymous. You can check if its working or not by visiting whatsmyip.

This is for configuring proxy settings on Firefox for android. To configure proxy for all the app, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Connect to a WiFi network.

Step 2: Go to Settings > WiFi.

Step 3: Tap and hold on the connected network’s name.

Step 4: Tap on Modify network.

Step 5: Choose to show advance options.

Step 6: Set the proxy settings.

You can also use apps such as Proxy Settings to easily configure your device’s proxy settings.
