Yahoo acquires Xobni

Only yesterday we published a report about Yahoo’s acquisition of the video making app Qwiki and now today it is confirmed that Yahoo is buying another startup, an email and address book management service provider called Xobni (inbox when you spell it backwards). Now 31 employees of Xobni will be working for Yahoo. Xobni has developed applications for email management, spam filtering and social media integration in messaging. Following the acquisition, Xobni for Blackberry has been pulled out of Blackberry Store and Smartr Contacts for the Android app is no longer available for download.

Though it has not been confirmed, according to AllthingsD, the Xobni acquisition is worth $30-$40 million.
