If you are one of the owners of Motorola Moto X 2014 and your carrier is Verizon, there is a good news for you. Verizon’s Moto X (2014) is getting the Lollipop update now. The US Carrier Verizon has been rolling out the latest version, the Android 5.0 Lollipop to its customers from today.
The soak test for the update had started rolling earlier today, and now the non-soak test, i.e. official Lollipop version Over The Air update is available. The carrier boasts about the privileges of having the update, such as improved design and better visibility on the Moto G 2014.
The information about the update has been given in the Carrier’s official site, as well as the Motorola blog.
The notification will appear itself in your device once it gets the update. Tap in the notification, and ‘Yes, I’m in’, and then ‘Start’ to update your Moto X. But in case if you don’t get the notification, you can check it manually too.
To check if your smartphone has got the update, go to Settings>About Phone>System Updates>Check Now. You will see the file to download there, but before proceeding forward, make sure that your Moto X 2014 has at least 50 percent charge in the battery. The file size will be around 678.6 MB, which is a huge one. When you have your battery charged (if you don’t have it already), tap in the notification message, then go to ‘Yes, I’m in’. Thereafter, tap in the ‘install now’, and your phone will automatically download, install and restart after the completion of the process.
Your version will be 22.21.11 after the update.
Now that Moto X (2014) is getting the Lollipop update, we also expect the update for Motorola Droid Turbo and Moto Maxx very near, as they are also the latest devices with top hardwares by Motorola. We will update you about anything available.
