How To: Share Wi-Fi Over Bluetooth

Wi-Fi has become an integral part of our lives in a short period of time. Not only you want your phone to get connected to the network, but to your laptop and other devices as well.
Users tend to use apps and third-party solutions on the market for the task. However, there is a simple solution to share Wi-Fi over Bluetooth via your Android device. Bluetooth tethering rules out the need to install any apps or third-party softwares.

Internet connections can be shared over a high-speed, short range wireless protocol, commonly used in smartphones. Many devices offer  Bluetooth tethering. Bluetooth tethering might be useful for you if you want to get multiple devices online. Here via this article, you can share your Wi-Fi signal on all connected devices.

Share Wi-Fi over Bluetooth

Step 1:  Get your device connected

First and foremost, connect the device over your desired Wi-Fi network.  Get your device online via the Wi-Fi network that you want to share. To turn on Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings >> Wi-Fi
  • Join the desired network
  • If asked, provide password
  • Select Connect

Or you can simply Scroll down your navigation bar (Scroll up in some device) and turn on Wi-Fi by clicking on it.

Step 2:  Configure your device

Once join to your desired network, start configuring your device. You can activate Bluetooth Tethering in these simple steps:

  • Go to Settings
  • Head over to Wireless & Networks
  • Go to More Networks
  • Enable Bluetooth Tethering

Step 3:  Enable your Bluetooth

In order to , you need to turn on your Bluetooth. For this, head over to Settings >> Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on. Adjust your Bluetooth visibility so that the device is visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices.

Step 4: Share your Wi-Fi network

With these steps done, you can now share your Wi-Fi to any other device.  On the device you want to connect, go to Bluetooth Settings >> Pair with the host device >> Connect to device for Internet Access. To connect on PC and laptops with Windows OS:

  • Go to Control Panel
  • Open Devices and Printers
  • Right Click on your phone icon
  • Select Connect using Access point
