Official LG G2 specs, all you need to know

LG G2 specs

LG G2 is finally official and it packs some serious hardware and software specs.  Many deem G2 as the flagship device that will bring LG significantly up in the android smartphone market. With high end specs, improved UI and a new twist to the designs, G2 might actually gain a huge fan following.

Most of the specs of LG G2 were already leaked prior to its official announcement.  However, here is the official specs:

  • Operating System: Android 4.2.2 with Optimus UI
  • Display: 5.2” IPS LCD 1920 X 1080 HD, 424 ppi
  • Processor: 2.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
  • GPU: Adreno 330 GPU
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Internal Storage: 16GB and 32GB
  • Camera: 13MP rear and 2.1 Front
  • LTE-A support, GSM, HSDPA
  • Connectivity: NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB, A-GPS….
  • Battery: 3000mAH
  • Dimensions: 138.5 X 70.9 X   8.9mm and 140g

LG packs some special hardware such as the Graphics RAM which is said to decrease the energy use of the display by 26 percent and increases the phone uses time by 16 percent. The G2 comes with studio quality hi-fi sound for better speaker sounds. The device also supports LTE-A connectivity.

On the design side, the G2 has a very thin 2.66mm bezel. This is because the G2 has its volume rockers and power buttons at the back below the camera lens.  Many were quiet unsure about this kind of button placement. However, when you hold the G2 your index finger can easily access the buttons at the back.

There is also lots of software and UI perks. The “Answer me” feature will automatically answer your calls when you hold the phone to your ear.  “Plug and pop” will suggest you apps when you plug in your headphones.  Double tapping or a “knock knock” on the screen will wake your G2.  To quickly bring up your memo simply hold the volume button up. You can also login “Guest mode”  by using a different screen unlock pattern. For multitasking, You can also swipe active apps off the screen using a three finger “Slide Aside” gesture. There is also a “QuickRemote” function that lets you control a wide range of devices including your home entertainment.

With all of these awesome goodies, G2 has proved itself a serious contender among other released and soon to be released flagships like the Galaxy S4, HTC One, HTC One MAX, Galaxy Note 3 and the Sony Xperia z Ultra.

While Moto X is also making a lot of wave, I wouldn’t put it in the same category as the G2 in terms of hardware specs and designs. Therefore, we can assume that both Moto X and LG G2 have their own customer segments.
