MWC 2015 has started, and the wait is finally over. In the world’s largest mobile-based event, HTC has announced its new flagship- the HTC One M9. With some major changes in the specs, the brand new flagship by HTC brings more or less the same things as its predecessor.
The HTC One M9 does not bring much changes to the One M8, at least in the specs. It features a 5 inches Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS LCD capacitive display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, which has a pixel density of 441 ppi. The handset is sleek, having dimensions of 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6 mm and it weighs just 157 grams. The phone will have 32 GB of internal memory with 3 GB of RAM and with an option of expandable storage option via microSD card upto 128 GB. For the processing power, there will be Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, compiled with Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU, and Adreno 430 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 20.7 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can capture videos upto 2160p @ 30 fps, and a 4 MP ultrapixels secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Po 2840 mAh battery. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi. The phone will run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system out of box with HTC’s Sense 7.0 UI over it, with guaranteed update for at least two years. The phone will be available in Gunmetal Gray, Amber Gold, Silver/Rose gold and Gold/Pink color options.
The HTC One M9 comes with refined design with less part count, dual anodization, and scratch-resistant coating and sapphire glass on the camera lens. HTC has altered the rear camera, among other things, and it no longer employs the UltraPixel technology that that was first introduced with the HTC One (M7). Instead, HTC has used a regular 20 megapixel camera on the rear, and made use of an UltraPixel snapper for the front. Along with this, there will be an awesome feature of customization, for its users. HTC says that the One M9 can also be personalized like no other HTC smartphone before. You can alter the interface to a large extent using HTC’s “theme” app, affording a level of customization usually only possible through the installation of ROMs.
There is no official announcement yet on the price of the HTC One M9, and it is expected to launch in all the major markets later this month.
