After HTC recently announced HTC Desire 510 with a 64-bit process with some mid-range specs, it has moved a step forward in this, by announcing the HTC Desire 820 with quite higher specs than the former. HTC, in its IFA event yesterday, and is the successor to the infamous HTC Desire 816 phone.
To talk about the specs of the HTC Desire 820, it features a 5.5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 267 ppi. The handset sports a sleek profile with dimensions 157.7 x 78.7 x 7.7 mm and weighs 155 grams, which is quite heavy but not much for the display size. The phone will have 16 GB of internal memory, with an option of expandable storage upto 128 GB via microSD card. It has 2 GB RAM, and for the processing power, there will be a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset complied with a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU (which makes it an octa-core), and an Adreno 405 GPU for gaming and graphics. As already mentioned, the SoC is designed to support 64-Bit. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with geo-tagging, LED Flash, touch autofocus, which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 8 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery mAh battery, which is claimed to give a talktime of 22 hours and 24 minutes in 3G. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC. It will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with the HTC Sense UI over it, and we expect it to get the Android L in future, since the processor may be put that way. The phone will be available in Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White, Milky-way Grey, Tangerine White, Saffron Grey, Flamingo Grey, Blue Misty and Monarch Orange color options.
The colour options in which is the phone is available is pretty impressive, and we are yet to see how the performance of the 64-bit processors are in long term. As the HTC Desire 820 is available to be released worldwide very soon, we will update about it later.
