I have a Verizon flip phone and get error unfortunately +message+ has stopped. What can I do to resolve the issue?

I have Samsung S4, Messaging App is not working.
Even I have installed new App Message Go & SMS Messages, even the new App are not working.
So much important data on previous app Messaging….tried all option, please advise any solution for this issue.
