You cannot use the app before you install it, so download it from the Play Store. When the installation is finished, long press your home button and select App Swap from the ‘Complete action using’ dialogue box and tap ‘OK’. Some devices may have to options to perform the action – ‘Just once’ and ‘Always’. I recommend you use ‘Always’ button to cut off a step whenever you’re going to use this app. There’s another way to open this app if your device has a soft home key. You can swipe the button of your screen to open up the app. Both of the method will work from anywhere.
Now when the app launches, you’ll see the list of all your apps. First tile opening the app may take some time. You can either scroll through the drawer or use the search bar for finding the app you need. The search bar works in two ways- by entering the name or by using the color palette to search for the app using its icons primary color as basis. You can also enable the keyboard to always appear whenever you open up the app to make it convenient for you to search for the app you need. Just go the the settings by tapping on the 3 dot menu icon.
Inside the settings, you have some useful options. The first one is ‘Open with keyboard, which has already been explained above. What it does is it’ll pop-up the keyboard and let you search for the app as soon you open App Swap. You can also enable or disable the slide up animation. It is enabled by default. You can enable the swipe up to open gesture as discussed above and also determine if you want to draw an overlay on the swipe zone. Since this is a free version, you don’t have much options but you can upgrade to pro version to unlock some additional settings for just $1.99. If you bought the pro version, you’ll be able to change the theme and use icon packs. You can also reverse the app list for your convenience and let the app include 4 most recent apps at the top. Badges for new and updated app will also be shown if you choose it enable that feature. You can control the opaqueness of the drawer and display app’s name.
