Samsung has recently announced the release of two new smartphones or phablets in its line of mid range products. The device is called Samsung Mega which is available in two variants- one with 6.3 inch 1280 x 720, 720p and another with 5.8 inch qHD display(960 x 540), both have Android 4.2 jellybean OS. The 6.3″ Mega also comes with LTE network and higher processor. This means Samsung now has the smartphone with the biggest display. The Android version of Flipboard, one of the most downloaded news feed readers in the Google store, has come up with the latest fixes and additional features. Now there is a “fetch for offline” section in the settings which will fetch content for offline viewing later. However, it only fetches the summaries not the entire article. Chinese tech giant, Huawei is all set to introduce its latest addition- a massive 6.1 inch handset at this years Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas. Videos of Huawei executives unveiling this device are already emerging on the web and from the looks of it, it is more of a tablet than a handset. For users who prefer bigger screens, maybe its time to get bigger pockets. Besides its flagship 6.1 inch 1080p display, the handset will pack a 1.8 ghz quadcore processor and a 4000 mAH battery.
The Cyanogenmod community has now released the unofficial android 4.2 release called the Cyanogenmod 10.1. Currently the 10.1 nightlies are released for many selected models. Though a stable release is yet to come, the cynogenmod users are already downloading/updating their roms and are reporting numerous bugs. Based on these reports the 10.1s are updated almost daily eliminating any known issues for the particular android smart phone.
