Sony has launched two more handsets under its lowly E series- Xperia E4g and E4g dual. Basically both are the same, except the E4g dual being the dual-sim version of the E4g. Moreover, the E4g is also just a LTE version of the Sony Xperia E4, which was released about two weeks back.

Xperia E4g

The Sony Xperia E4g does not stand so high in case of the specs though, since it is targeted for budget users. It features a 5-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) TFT capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 220 ppi. The handset is sleek, having dimensions of 137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm and it weighs just 144 g. The phone will have 8 GB of internal memory with 1 GB of RAM, with the expandable storage option via microSD card upto 32 GB. For the processing power, there will be Mediatek MT6582 chipset compiled with quad Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A-7 CPU, and Mali 400-MP2 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 5 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 2 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-ion 2300 mAh battery, which will give the talktime of upto 12 hours on 3G. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi. The phone will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box with Xperia UI over it, and we can’t say anything about the future updates. The phone will be available in only two color options- Black and White.

The Sony Xperia E4g will launch in April at around €130, the same price as the initial pre-orders for the 3G-only phone (which has gone down to €120 since). There’s on price for the dual-SIM version yet. We can also expect this phone to be showcased in MWC 2015 as well, as that is near. There is no information yet about its international availability though, and for its launch in the US too.
