How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (International Version)

Before you go any further to root Samsung Galaxy Note 4 make sure your device is supported. You can find the list supported device below. Not all models are supported yet. Make sure you check CF-Auto-Root site as well; some devices might have been left out here. Also, make sure you visit this XDA Thread as well. Note that I do not take any credits for this method. Before you start the flashing process; be warned that following this rooting method will trip off the KNOX and may void your device’s warranty. So, continue if you know what you’re doing and are certain you want to do this.

Steps to Root

Step 1: Download and extract the proper CF-Auto-Root .zip file for your device. Make sure you do not extract the .zip file twice. You should end up with .tar.md5 file.

Step 2: Make sure your device is not connected to your computer.

Step 3: Install and open Odin on your computer.

Step 4: Click on PDA button and select CF-Auto-Root-….tar.md5 file that you previously extracted.Odin ss

Step 5: Start you device on Download mode. To do so, turn off your device > press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power button. You may be asked to press a button to continue after you get into Download mode.Download mode

Step 6: Connect your device to the computer.

Step 7: On Odin, make sure Re-partition is not checked.

Step 8: Click on Start button.

Step 9: Wait for your device to boot. First boot may take several minutes. Don’t panic.

How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ( Sprint | AT&T | T-Mobile)

This exploit is for N910TUVU1ANIH, N910TUVU1ANJ7, N910TUVU1ANK4, N910TUVU1COD6, N910TUVU1COG2 Lollipop 5.0.1 and SM-N910T Note 4 Kit Kat 4.4.4. This exploit has been confirmed working on Lollipop N910TUVU1COG2 and N910TUVU1COD6. This guide is not for N910T3. Note that I do not take any credits for this method. Steps to Root

Step 1: Install the Samsung USB drivers on your computer.

Step 2: Disable Reactivation lock. Go to Settings > Security and uncheck Reactivation lock.Root Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - reactivation lock

Step 3: Extract the CF-Auto-Root file.

Step 4: Put your device in Download mode. To do so, Turn off the device and then turn it back on by holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together.Download mode

Step 5: Connect your device to your computer.

Step 6: Open Odin as Administrator then click on PDA and select the CF-Auto-Root file. Make sure you have checked only the boxes as displayed on the picture below.Odin_cfroot

Step 7: Click on Start button. Your device is now rooted. The initial boot may take some minutes. If you want to flash a custom recovery then read further.

Step 8: Turn off your device.

Step 9: Put your device in Download mode again.

Step 10: Connect your device to your computer.

Step 11: Open Odin. Click on PDA and select the TWRP file you have downloaded. Make sure you have checked only the boxes as displayed on the picture below.Odin_twrp

Step 12: Click on Start button. Now your device is rooted with custom recovery.

Step 13: Copy the Ext SD Card Write Fix .zip file on your device’s internal SD Card.

Step 14: Turn off your device.

Step 15: Go to recovery. To do so, press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power together.twrp_1

Step 16: Tap on Install and select the Ext SD Card Write Fix .zip file.

Step 17: Swipe to install.
