It has not been much a long time since HTC announced to send the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to its devices, and the time schedule is out. HTC has announced that the Google Play Edition of its two best smartphones- HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) will have the latest version of Android rolled out this Friday, which is pretty fast enough. Though we can’t say that HTC is the fastest, since this only for the GPE devices as of now, still this is a good thing to hear for the users who are currently using these devices.

Lollipop updates

HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi, has responded on Twitter answering questions regarding the latest Lollipop development for the company’s GPE devices. He has informed that the update will be available in about 48 hours, if everything works under the plan. The tweet reply by Mo Versi says,

“Hi Marty, got delayed – new target is Friday. Working aggressively to get it out as quickly as possible. Thanks. Mo”

While this is the good news for GPE owners, the schedule is not yet set for the standard HTC One (M7) and One (M8) users. You need not to panic though, if you don’t use the GPE One smartphones, since the update is guaranteed by HTC and will most probably be arriving in January 2015. This is becausethe GPE phones run on stock version of Android, and the standard phones don’t. Hence, this was an obvious fact that the GPE devices would get the updates sooner. There is no doubt that HTC is trying to go good with the updates in its flagships, after all the loss it had in the past years.

UPDATE: There has been delay for the update, Mo Versi says Google has requested another software version, so there’s more work to be done.

We will update you with any further informations available about the updates. Keep connected, and also see List of smartphones confirmed to get Android 5.0 Lollipop.
