Proxy means substitute. A proxy server represents / substitute a host instead of you into the internet. This hides your real identity. When you use proxy, for example, when you type in an URL, you talk to the proxy server instead of directly to the internet. This way, all the data gets sent to the proxy server and the server sends the data for you to the defined destination. Proxy basically is another computer which acts as a hub through which inter requests are processed. This is what proxy is in layman’s term. Here’s how to configure proxy on Firefox for Android.

Step 5: Set Proxy Type to 1 to enable the proxy setting.
Step 6: You can now browse the internet while being anonymous. You can check if its working or not by visiting whatsmyip.
